02/09/2010Assistance For Landowners In Scotland To Restore Waterways And Wetlands
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a call for applications to the Water Environment Restoration Fund to deliver physical improvements to rivers, lochs, estuarine and coastal water bodies and wetlands.
Open to landowners, local authorities, environmental charities and fisheries trusts in Scotland, the fund will support projects that will contribute to achieving the Water Framework Directive (WFD) to prevent the decline of aquatic ecosystems and restore water areas affected by human activities by 2015.
