Where We Are
The Cowal Peninsular is located in Argyll, and is within easy reach of Glasgow, Greenock, Gourock, Inverary and Dumbarton
Cowal's main town is Dunoon, and there are many other settlements such as Sandbank, Kirn, Blairmore, Kilmun, Strone, Ardentinny,
Strachur, Colintraive, Glendareul, Tighnabruaich, St.Catherines, Lochgoilhead, Cairndow, Innellan, and Toward.
Cowal is also within easy reach of Glasgow Airport and Prestwick Airport, both of which have international flights.
By road from Glasgow taking the A83,A815 and A885, Cowal is approximately a 60 minute drive.
By Road to Gourock and then Gourock-Dunoon ferry, total travelling time is approximately 45 minutes
There is also the availability of travelling by train from Glasgow to Gourock and then ferry on to Dunoon. This takes approximately a total of 1 hour 15 mins.
Association Membership & Fees
Membership of Association is open to all business and voluntary organisations in Cowal.
Application Form for membership can be obtained by contacting dunooncowalba@aol.com and annual fees for 2009/10 are;

Members paying by standing order receive a discount of £10 on above fees (except voluntary orgaisations)
Details of advantages to menbers, the Association Business Plan, and the Association Action Plan 2009/10 can be sent to prospective members on request.
The Association has received grant funding from Leader Funds for 2009/10
Networking/ Seminars/ Events
Various events take place throughout the year, and all events are geared to be informative and provide networking opportunities.
Speakers from key organisations such as Argyll & Bute Council, Scottish Government, Scottish Tourism Forum, Highland & Islands Enterprise, Business Gateway,etc are invited to specific meetings to inform members of the work of their organisations and to answer member's questions.
Public entertainment events are also arranged by the Association, and through cooperation with Cowal Community Events Association, to increase footfall in the area, and encourage trade from locals and visitors.
Association Links with other Local Organisations
The Association is represented on the Destination Dunoon & Cowal Steering Group, which was formed to promote Dunoon and Cowal as the Marine Gateway to the National Park. The Association is also represented on the sub groups of Forward Dunoon & Cowal, and Marine Access group.
The Association has a formal partnership with Argyll & Bute Council, and meets with councillors representing the Cowal Area.
