Dunoon & Cowal Business Association

Mission Statement:

To increase the local economy for the benefit of businesses throughout Cowal, and to provide services and an environment that will encourage trade.

The Association was constituted in March 2009 with the aim of regenerating business in the Cowal area through,

  • conducting surveys on the needs and concerns of local businesses and  customers
  • liaising with key decision makers, such as Scottish Government, Argyll & Bute Council etc
  • raising the image of Dunoon and Cowal by ensuring that the natural and built environment is maintained to high standard conducive to an area that will encourage residents and visitors to trade.
  • networking between businesses both locally and nationally
  • improving job opportunities in the area.
  • increased publicity and marketing of the area and businesses therein.
  • providing a forum to discuss issues of importance to members
  • providing guidance and assistance to businesses when problems perceived
  • encouraging new businesses to the area through marketing of the Cowal area and the advantages of relocating to there.

The Association has an Executive Committee of 10 members, who meet on a monthly basis, and the Asssociation is administered on a daily basis by Brian Chennell, manager.

The Association membership is also open to voluntary organisations in Cowal.

The Association is non-party in politics, non-sectarian in religion, and non-racist.
